Tom Wimer, Partner of TowerHunter’s East Coast Operations, is also the founder and chief executive officer of Axeo, LLC, (Axeo) his third successful entrepreneurial venture. During his 30 years as a human resources (HR) and recruitment professional, he has counseled some of the world’s most respected companies, top federal government agencies and non-profit organizations on a variety of issues including talent management, human capital management and organizational effectiveness.
A trusted leader shaping the future of the HR industry, Tom is the past President and CEO of KnowledgeBank, Inc., an award-winning human resources management consulting firm he founded in 2003 to meet the demand for management practices with a practical approach to actually getting things done. Tom’s first business venture, Miller & Wimer, LLC, was a successful retained executive search firm that had a national reach and served some of the largest companies in the world including American Express, Pepsico, General Electric, and others.
Tom’s corporate career spanned over fifteen years. He held executive HR positions at several globally recognized companies including ExxonMobil where he was accountable for all executive, experienced professional and campus recruitment programs in the United States, while serving as a corporate liaison to international affiliates. Prior to that, he was a senior corporate human resources executive with The Dial Corporation, where he developed and implemented an “internal executive search model” that saved the company outside search costs, increased speed to fill positions, and raised the level of recruitment process and candidate quality. Earlier in his career, Tom was an HR and Operations manager with General Electric.
Tom holds an MS in Human Resource Management from LaRoche College in Pittsburgh, PA and a BS in Business Management from Marshall University. He serves on the Board of Directors for Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, and has served in leadership roles for the HR Leadership Forum and other organizations focused on advancing the field of human resource management.
